Eric Randal Hammett was born September 29, 1969, in Baton Rouge Louisiana and passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024. He is survived by his dad, Armond Pete Poirrier and mom, Carolyn Christeen Hammett Cowart and stepfather Jesse Cowart. His brothers and their wives Gregory Wayne and Amy Poirrier and Kevin Andre and Lisa Poirrier. His nephews and nieces: Joshua and Abby, Jacob, Noah and Madelyn Poirrier; Christian, Bethany and Joseph Poirrier, and Brittany Reid. Pallbearers will be Joshua, Jacob, Noah and Joseph Poirrier, Caleb and Matthew Macaluso and Nathan Williams.
Funeral services will be held at Ascension Funeral Home on Friday, November 22, 2024, with visitation from 9-11 and service at 11 am. Graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He attended Galvez Elementary and St. Amant High School and participated in the Special Olympics. He loved attending Bethany and interacting with everyone he met. Eric was a loving and kind person with a simple nature who enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching cartoons, and solving crosswords. He is cherished by all and is known forever.
