BROOKSVILLE — Eric Hedgecock, 41, passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2026.
He was born on April 21, 1984, to Eddie Hedgecock of Maysville and Libby Boyd of Brooksville. He was deeply loved by those who knew him and will be remembered for his kind heart, empathy, and quiet strength. Eric cared deeply for others and would often go out of his way to help someone in need or simply to make someone smile. He was thoughtful, gentle, and generous with his time and compassion.
He worked as a commercial driver for over 17 years, traveling more than one million miles across 48 states – a testament to his dedication, perseverance, and love of the open road. Outside of work, Eric enjoyed cooking, gaming, and technology. He had a strong interest in computers and often worked with them as a hobby. He also loved movies and television, especially The Matrix, Back to the Future, and The Terminator trilogies, as well as shows like Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, and The Bear.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Danielle Hedgecock, his sisters, Amy Ruark, and Laura Moran; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Casey Hedgecock.
Eric will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A Celebration of Life will held at the convenience of the family.
