It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eric Daniel Hirst on January 4 th, 2026, at the age of 50.

Born on May 2 nd, 1975, in Los Angeles, California, to Ronald Eric Hirst and Janet Snow. He was raised in California, Oregon, and Utah.

He was the youngest of eight children.

Eric's heart was as big as he was tall. Eric had high standards for those he loved because that is what he always gave in return. Eric was fiercely loyal to the people he chose to embrace. And there was never a question about whom he loved.

He was always willing to help where he could, to protect and sacrifice for others, even if it meant he had to make sacrifices.

Eric loved learning and gaining new knowledge. He was passionate about understanding his world and was excited to share what he had learned with others. His hobbies were as wide as the universes he studied and gamed in, and he loved his time with family and friends. His huge collection of Warhammer 40K tabletop figurines showcases his attention to detail, creativity, and ability to focus on the tiniest aspects while still having incredible knowledge of the universe.

A public viewing will be held on January 12, 2026, at Anderson & Sons Mortuary in American Fork from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the same location, where we will come together to honor his life and the memories we hold dear, and to celebrate Eric - a kind and loving soul who left us far too soon.

Eric is survived by his wife, Kristin Hirst, and their beloved puppies, Zoe Blue and Freya Fenris.

His son, Brandon Michael Hirst, and daughter, Audrey (Estevan) Ibarra, grandchildren, Ezra and Esme.

Siblings Tracie (Stephen) Kennedy, Daniel Robert Parsons-Hirst, and Marion Bartley.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Eric Hirst, mother, Janet Snow, sister Heather Williams; and Ronni Simmons.
