Eric Hoff

Eric Allan Hoff Sr., 59, of Warren, New Jersey, passed away on July 10, 2025 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit.
Born in Plainfield on October 11, 1965, Eric was the son of the late Peter and Cordelia Hoff. He grew up in Watchung before settling in Warren where he spent almost 20 years with his family.
Eric, with the help of his brother started his own plumbing utility company from scratch - with nothing more than a few shovels and determination. Through years of hard work, the company grew into a successful business. Eric was proud of this accomplishment and it was clear he was not one to ever shy away from a hard days work.
Outside of work, Eric found joy in the outdoors and had a lifelong love for fishing. He especially loved surf casting for striped bass down the Jersey shore and tuna fishing in Cape Cod. He also loved to catch anything that swam while vacationing in the Florida Keys (particularly tarpon). Eric had a passion for motorsports as well -snowmobiles, dirt bikes, motorcycles, you name it- and was a natural at anything fast and loud.
Eric was an excellent ice skater, a skill he picked up as a kid while skating on the Watchung Lake where he spent many days outside growing up.
Music was another constant in Eric's life. He had a deep appreciation for all kinds of music and always had something playing (or blasting) in the background.
Eric is survived by his beloved wife, Marianne, and their son, Eric Jr. He also leaves behind his brother, Roy, and his sister, Leslie.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, July 17, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A memorial service will take place at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Eric's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
