Eric Kauffman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. - West York on Mar. 27, 2026.
Eric J. Kauffman, 63 of Dover, passed away on February 12th, 2026. He leaves behind a lifetime of music, laughter and love that will never be forgotten.

For more than 30 years, Eric was the heart and soul of his band, Dog Pound. He wasn't just a frontman – he was a force. When he stepped on stage, you felt it. His voice, his energy, and his passion had a way of pulling people in and bringing them together. But as much as he loved performing, it was the people in front of him that mattered most.

Off stage, Eric was the same person everyone saw under the lights – kind, welcoming, and full of life. He had a way of making people feel like they belonged, whether you had known him for years or had just met him. He was always ready with a laugh, a story, or a helping hand, and he never hesitated to put others before himself. That was just who he was.

Eric was a devoted husband, a loving family man, and a loyal friend. He built his life around the people he cared about, giving his time, his heart, and his unwavering support. He loved deeply, and he was deeply loved in return.

He is survived by his wife, Cher Kauffman; his sister, Judy Hall; his stepdaughter, Chyna Adams; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Mann Kauffman; his father, Max Kauffman; and his sister, Cathy Parkent.

Eric will be missed more than words can say – but his music, his spirit, and the way he made people feel will live on in every life he touched.

Services will take place on Saturday April 25th, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at John W. Keffer Funeral Home, 2114 West Market St. York.
