Eric Eugene Lindeau, 60, of
Scottsville, KY passed away surrounded by the unconditional love and care of his family after a long journey with liver disease. A liver transplant in 2016 gifted him 9 additional years of life, and his family is deeply grateful to the donor and donor's family for their extraordinary gift. Eric was born on October 19, 1965 at Holloman Air Force Base in
Alamogordo, New Mexico to the late Dale Allen Lindeau and Faith Anne Roque Grathen. Eric proudly served in the United States Army during the Cold War, with the 3rd Battalion 67th Armor, were he was a tank crew member. He was also a former Corpsmember of the California Conservation Corps. He earned his Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Volunteer State Community College in 1991 and devoted 26 years to nursing, including 15 years at Greenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation as an administrative nurse. A man of deep faith, Eric served as Assistant Pastor at East End Baptist Church and was active in the music ministry, teaching, community outreach and nursing home ministry. He was a former deacon at New Hope Baptist Church in Boyd, Texas where he was originally called to preach. He was a gifted musician who played multiple instruments by ear, a devoted Denver Broncos fan and loved playing basketball. Eric will be remembered for his presence, his passion for people and his unwavering faith.
He is survived by his 3 daughters: Erica (Casey) Hanner,
Scottsville, KY; Erin (Sam) Baum,
Honolulu, HI and Emily (Mason) Nofsinger,
Owensboro, KY;
He was a proud "Pop-A-Dop" to his 3 grandchildren: Emerlyn Massingale, Dahlia Nofsinger and Stella Nofsinger, whom he adored and spoke of often;
1 brother: Mike (Dianne) Lindeau,
Bloomington, IN;
1 sister: Anne (Robert) Brown,
River Oaks, TX;
A large extended family of nieces and nephews, including a niece: Kayla Kirby,
Oak Harbor, WA, who was raised with his devoted care. Additionally, he leaves behind two devoted caregivers and dear friends: Davy and Amanda Huston, whose unconditional care meant more than words can express.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Beth Kirby Lindeau.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Harper and Bro. Paul Gatewood officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
