Eric Littrell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Homes - Green City on Oct. 24, 2024.
Eric Martin Littrell, 51, of Green City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
Eric was born on December 29, 1972, in Macon, Missouri, to Dennis Littrell and Anita (Bailey) Littrell. He grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri, graduating from Blue Springs High School in 1991. In 1999, Eric moved to Detroit, Michigan where he worked at the MGM Grand Detroit Casino and met his wife, Barbara Misiak. They were married on June 1, 2007. In 2010, Eric and Barbara moved to Green City where they raised their family. Eric worked at the Green City R-1 School wearing many hats, including substitute teaching, driving a bus, helping coach track or whatever they needed him to do. In 2018, Eric started Littrell Family Towing and Recovery, which he continued to operate until his death.
Eric is survived by his wife Barbara of the home, five children; Bonai Littrell of Plainfield, Illinois, Eric Littrell Jr. of Plainfield, Illinois, Brooke Littrell of Green City, Missouri, Ramsey Littrell of Plainfield, Illinois and Ivan Littrell of Green City, his father and stepmother, Dennis and Linda Littrell of Independence, Missouri, Grandmother, Evasene Littrell of Macon, Missouri, brother, Scott Littrell of Columbia, Missouri, stepsister, Gina Reese of Kansas City, Missouri, father in law, David Misiak (Mary Beth) of Milan, Missouri, two brother in laws, Jeff Misiak of Madison Heights, Michigan and Joe Misiak of Sterling Heights, Michigan, step brother in law, Rowan Bail of Milan, Missouri, step sister-in-law Caris Sefcovic of Imlay City, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Bailey, mother-in-law Jane Misiak, maternal grandparents, Ivan and Vera Bailey and paternal grandfather, Richard Littrell.
Eric was an avid supporter of Green City sports, especially basketball. He could often be heard from the front row yelling at, not only Brooke and Ivan, but many other athletes whom he believed in and encouraged them to play to their full potential. Eric always had several projects going on and loved to collect and restore vintage cars. Most of all, Eric loved spending time with his family and took great pride in running a successful, honest and friendly tow company which operated in several counties in north Missouri.
A funeral service for Eric will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri, with a graveside service to follow at Hawkeye Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
