Eric David "Dave" Long

Eric David (Dave) Long, 63, of Blacksburg VA, originally from Long Shop Virginia. Beloved husband, father, brother, and son passed away 12/26/2025. Left to honor his memory is his wife, Ginger Clayton, his son Aaron Zachary Long (Callie), his daughter Candace Long, his father Samuel Long, brothers Rickey Long (Christina), John Long (Kerri), Tom Long, his sister Vicki Long Miller (Todd), grandchildren Rozalynn and Silas. His sister in law, Reed Clayton, and brother in law, Hunter Clayton (Ella). Numerous nieces and nephews. Many, many close friends supporting us through this journey.

Dave was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. Sharing many trips to Colorado with family and friends to hunt elk. He enjoyed working the land and creating a wonderful farm here in Ellett Valley. The place he called his Heaven.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 4, 2026 at McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg from 2 to 4 in the afternoon. We look forward to greeting his family and friends in remembrance of the blessed life and times of a strong, bold, and loving man.
