Eric Daniel Marsh

April 26th, 1964 - February 13th, 2026

Eric Daniel Marsh passed away on February 13th, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him. The oldest child on both sides of his family, Eric was a leader, much like his grandfather, Carl Anderson, who emigrated from Sweden at the age of 16 to make a life in America.

Born in Norwich Connecticut, just three days before his mother's birthday, Eric was fiercely loyal to his family; including his parents, brothers, cousins, nieces, nephew, and girlfriend, Mariah. But his only child, Claudia Marsh, was his world, and source of immense pride.

Eric loved the outdoors, especially fishing. When he and his brothers were young, his father would take the boys on an annual fishing trip to Jackman, Maine. It was there he found a common bond with the people he met on these trips, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. Eric found peace in the woods connecting with nature.

As a youth, Eric played on championship baseball teams for Jewett City Little League. Many of his cousins would hang on the outfield fence at these games, watching their older cousin play and dreaming of doing the same someday.

One of Eric's biggest loves was music. He could sing like a lark and attended more concerts than most people. He may have the record for most Heart concerts by a Connecticut resident.

Eric was always involved in his community and loved his hometown of Voluntown. As a child he was a Boy Scout, and later in life successfully ran for and served as First Selectman.

Eric formed many memories with his VT Boys. Monday night softball, spending time at "Earth," or lending a hand to those who needed a tow from his well-known truck "Blue Bitch". Eric co-founded the infamous "Good Friday Open", which is heading into its 35th year. These memories should live on through storytelling, one of Eric's pastimes. Some thought his stories were outrageous; others that knew him best would say: "That's Elwood."
Eric was a person of unwavering principles and greeted everyone with a firm handshake, something engrained in him by his grandfather. He was a leader, musician, conservationist, and was passionate about his chosen profession in construction.

Being the oldest grandchild on both his mom and dad's side of the family, Eric was always looked up to and often led the way for his younger brothers and cousins. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Beverly Marsh, brothers Todd, Brett, and Ryan, and his daughter, Claudia.

We will miss his smile, advice, music and leadership. We know he is singing "Ol' 55" somewhere right now.

In lieu of flowers please honor his memory by planting a tree.
