Eric Moats

Eric Ryan Moats, 53, of Dobson, North Carolina, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025. Born June 3, 1971, to Lester Rogers Moats and Teresa Mole Draughn. Eric was a loving son, father, brother, friend, and devoted Christian. Eric was a graduate from Surry Central High School and Surry Community College. Along with his parents, left to cherish his memory are his sons and daughters-in-law, Dylan Moats and Amber, and Ethan Moats and Holly Whitaker; step father, Ricky Draughn; step mother, Vicki Moats; sisters, Robin Narehood and Charla Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Brently Moats and Nadia; nieces and nephew, Jasmine Narehood, Nathan Narehood, Sophie Narehood, Marissa Miller, and Ivy Miller; aunts and uncles, Donna Moats, John and Gail Mole, Ginger and Joel Hardy, and Marty and Tammy Branch. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 PM at Dobson First Baptist Church. A celebration of his life will follow at 3:30 PM in the church. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson, NC is serving the Moats family.
