Eric Sanchez was born on April 7th, 2003 in Austin, Texas to parents Michelle and Douglas Sanchez of Round Rock, Texas.
Eric was a warrior. He endured the effects of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, but he refused to let it define him. His contagiously positive attitude, zest for life, and infinitely inquisitive mind set the tone for how he viewed the world and lived his life. He loved his family and friends, but also valued and sought his independence. We were often told that he would miss us when he was cured and moved to Japan.
Eric was a creator. He loved to tell stories, using both spoken word as well as various artistic mediums. He wrote, directed, and produced personal movie projects. He developed worlds within worlds in his favorite video games. He also enjoyed playing the roles of chef and food critic often dreaming up unique food fusion creations with a particular emphasis on Japanese cuisine.
Eric was an explorer. He loved traveling, trying new foods, and experiencing the world with its many perspectives.
Eric was a friend to everyone. He had a knack for quickly making new friends wherever he went, thanks to his ever-ready smile and charm. His personal flare, quick wit, practical jokes, and sly sense of humor drew smiles from those around him. He took great pleasure in seeing people smile and laugh.
Eric is survived by his parents Michelle and Douglas Sanchez and sister Deanna Sanchez.
Eric passed away Friday, June 28th, 2024 in Round Rock, Texas.
A Memorial Celebration for Eric will be held at Triumph Centre Church, 7800 Holbrook St. NE. Albuquerque, NM 87122, on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at 1:00pm Mountain Time Zone.
A local Celebration of Life will be held in Round Rock, TX, with the date and location to be determined.
Son,
I thought of you today but that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too
I think of you in silence I often speak your name
All l have are memories and your picture in a frame
Your memory is a keepsake from which I never part
God has you in His arms I have you in my heart
