Lawrence A. McKee passed away January 17, 2026, in Round Rock Texas surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Mercedes (Gerstner) McKee and his son Daniel.

Larry was born on February 4, 1944, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was a devoted husband of more than 60 years to his beloved wife, Janice (McGartland) McKee. Together they built a strong and loving family.

Larry was a proud and loving father to Jeffrey, Peter (Sommer), Michael, Ryan (Tracy), Helen, Emily (Andy) Cannon, Danny, and a foster son Charles Harris. Larry was also a cherished grandfather to 16 grandchildren; Moriah (Ethan) Borden, Brooke (Bowen) Crisp, Jacob, Cora, Micah, Julia, Kenna, Brennen, Kate, Collin, William, Brandt, Jordyn, Courtney, Quinn and Breaden. Larry also had 4 great-grandchildren; Ava, Mila, Dawson and Paisley with 1 more great-grandchild on the way. His legacy lives on through each generation. Surviving brothers are George (Phyllis) McKee II and Robert (Rose) McKee.

A devout Catholic, Larry converted to the faith as part of his marriage to Janice and went on to live his faith deeply and authentically. Through his spiritual leadership and involvement with Marriage Encounter, Larry influenced and strengthened the lives and marriages of countless couples over the years. His faith was lived through action, generosity, and quiet service.

Larry served his parish in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, as a dedicated member of the finance committee. He also maintained close and lasting relationships with many priests, generously providing free tax advice and preparation to those he cared for as friends and spiritual brothers.

Professionally, Larry was a distinguished executive and CEO of several large companies across multiple industries. He was widely respected as a leading turnaround and insolvency specialist, known for his sharp intellect, integrity, and steady leadership during times of challenge.

Larry was an Adjunct Instructor in the MBA Department of the esteemed Seton Hill University, Greensburg, PA. Additionally, Larry was a CFO Advisory to the Board of Directors of School Facility Development in Pittsburgh, PA

Larry was a longtime member of Oakmont Country Club, the Duquesne Club, and Weirton Country Club, where he enjoyed fellowship and friendship that spanned decades.

Above all, Larry will be remembered as a man of faith, a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a trusted advisor, and a servant leader whose life made a lasting difference in the lives of many.
