Eric Schardt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Alternatives on Mar. 6, 2026.
Eric Lee Schardt, age 65, of Stanton, Michigan passed away on March 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Eric was born on December 27, 1960, in Phoenix, Arizonia. He attended Apollo High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy and Marine, from approximately 1980 to 1983.

Eric was a hardworking and devoted family man who spent much of his life providing for those he loved. When he had time to enjoy life outside of work, he loved fishing, traveling, and spending time outdoors. Eric had a special passion for cars-especially his Mustangs and his Cadillac-and loved sharing that enthusiasm with others.

More than anything, Eric cherished time spent with family. Whether sharing stories, enjoying a meal, or going out to some of his favorite restaurants like La Cocina and Fuji Yama, those were the moments that meant the most to him. His outgoing personality, humor, and generous heart made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.

Eric is survived by his loving wife, Kristina Schardt (Steiner); his children, Michael Schardt and Erica Rozela; his stepchildren, James Steiner, Jeremy Russell, and Kylie Russell; his step-grandchild, Weston Palmer; and his siblings Cheryl Quammen, Michael Pebbles, Barbara Pounds, and Erin Hutchison.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lois Schardt and Robert Schardt; his brother, Dennis Pebbles; and his infant son, Grant Schardt.

Even in his passing, Eric continued to give through organ donation-an incredible final act of generosity that will help save and improve the lives of others.

Eric will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love of family, his hardworking spirit, and the kindness he showed to those around him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported them and kept them in their prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Your love, kindness, and presence have meant more than words can express

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday March 7, 2026 at Plainfield Christian Church located at 7255 Pine Island Dr NE Comstock Park, Michigan 49321 with a time of fellowship to follow.
