Eric Lee Smith

Eric Lee Smith, Age 62. Passed on April 26, 2025 at home. Eric grew up in Walnut Hills. As a young man he traveled with his uncle Walt around the country servicing concert events. Due to his travels and his love of reading and conversing with people he became a very learned person and quite a history buff. In his adult life Eric later obtained his High School Diploma via the G.E.D program, which he was very proud of. But as many of you know, with the knowledge he had obtained through life, he should have had a PH.D. There was almost no subject that he didn't know something about. Eric was an avid Bengals fan as many of you know, even gaining the title Bengal man from some of the neighborhood kids where he lived. He could discuss any sports team's history with accuracy. Outside of his relatives, Eric was blessed to be a husband, pop's, pawpaw and brother-in-law. But one of his titles that he was most proud of was his title of Caregiver, which matched his big heart. He was such a caring and giving person. Eric had an interest in Music and loved playing his guitar, in his spare time he was always practicing or learning to play something new. With age comes reflection, contemplation and a desire to change, and with that contemplation Eric had a desire to learn more about the bible and deepen his relationship with God and engaged in a personal bible study with Jehovah's Witnesses. After completing his formal bible study he made the decision that he wanted to get baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. But an unforeseen occurrence thwarted his physical plans, but did not change his hope of a better life in the future. Eric was a very encouraging person and prayed for everyone he knew and didn't know "before we could eat dinner" says wife.
Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
