Eric Lee Smith was born to Jimmie Lee and Ludie Mae Smith in Liberty, Texas on October 18, 1970. He attended Goodrich ISD where he graduated, then went on to work at Maverick's in Conroe, Texas until he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at the age of 21.

Eric was formerly married to Amy Jackson. From that union, he was blessed with 3 children. Tyshekia Jackson, Jeric Smith, and Javius Smith. In addition, Eric was also the father of two other children, Jalen Carter and Jacolby Smith; all whom he loved deeply.

Eric was known for his warm spirit and the way he could light up a room with his presence. Family meant a great deal to Eric, and he shared meaningful relationships throughout his life. He will be remembered for his personality, presence, and the memories he created with those who knew him is home was always full of life and laughter-the place where friends and family, gathered. He loved brining people together, cooking for everyone, and hosting cookouts.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Ludie Mae Smith. His siblings, Jimmie Earl, Junie Smith, and Marilyn Austin. As well as his son, Jeric Smith.

He leaves his legacy of love and precious memories to his children: Tyshekia, Jalen, Jacolby, and Javius. Grandchildren: Cali, Jordan, Alani, Jirah, Ca'Lani, and Jermani. siblings: Dorothy Pearl Prevost, Dorothy Marie Vaughn, Leevera Smith. A host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
