It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of Eric Christopher Sutter, of Laurel, Maryland. He died on June 21, 2024, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, due to complications from Esophageal Cancer. He was 56. He is the eldest son of (RET) Lt. Col. David and Diane Sutter of Lake Mary, Florida. Eric was born in Sacramento, CA and grew up an Air Force brat, living in many states, as well as overseas in Germany, before moving to Maryland for undergraduate, graduate school and settling down with his own family.
Eric was the devoted husband to wife of 28 years, Sonya Beth Wolf-Sutter, dedicated father to his two daughters Brooke Pilar Sutter and Lindsey Elise Sutter. He is survived by his younger brother Kevin (wife, Kathleen) Sutter and niece, Quinn Sutter of Fishers, Indiana. Beloved son-in-law to Murray and Elaine Wolf, Silver Spring, Maryland, and, brother-in-law to Michael Wolf and Richard Wolf of Silver Spring, Maryland. Uncle (RET) Lt. Col Michael and Aunt Daughn Sutter, Champaign, IL; Aunt Deborah Taylor, Lake Mary, Fl; and Uncle Sam and Aunt Donna Buck, Lockport, IL. Cherished Cousins and devoted friends.
Eric was kindhearted, welcoming and fun loving. He never hesitated to volunteer for a job that needed doing. He worked his career as an IT Project Manager. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, enjoying season tickets in Arlington, TX. He enjoyed fancy gadgets and DIY type projects. He took pride in his lawn, conversing with his neighbors, loved taking photos, keeping up on national news, cooking, barbecuing and using his smoker and grill. He also loved to travel. We feel a deep sense of sadness being separated from him.
Family, friends and co-workers are invited to honor Eric's memory at a gathering to be held on Friday, July 12th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029. A memorial service will be held from 1:30pm - 2:00pm.
