ERIC PAUL THOMAS LIVESTREAM LINK
Eric Paul Thomas was the oldest of two sons born June 18, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph James Thomas and Carol Jean Thomas (Both Deceased).
He attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated in 1983 from John Adams High School (Mighty Rebels).
Eric was a dedicated Jehovah's Witness for many years and committed his life in baptism to Jehovah as a young brother in the early 1980's. He loved Jehovah and was determined to spread The Good News by spending time as a Ministerial Servant and as an Auxiliary Pioneer. Within the congregation and family members his warm personality attracted so many people, young and old.
As a youth Eric enjoyed many hobbies and had a love for the arts. At a young age young he would write, host and act in live puppet shows in the family backyard on a stage built with his own hands. These shows were very professional and entertaining for the entire neighborhood that no one has ever forgotten. While Eric appeared to be an introvert, his beloved family and many friends from all walks of life knew him as impressive, compassionate, extremely polite, hilarious (jokester, filled with laughing energy), reliable and dedicated. Eric truly never met a stranger and loved to engage in stimulating conversation. There are many stories the family shared of funny times with Eric including whoopie cushions, impersonating others as a child and comical physical stances. Growing up with him was extremely fun! Eric was such a carefree person that his everyday responses made him a natural comedian to most (just being Eric).
In exploration for his passion for music and comradery, he, his brother and father started a family band where Eric was the drummer. Thereafter, he continued his passion for drumming in other bands. He had history with the Karamu House of Cleveland, family reunions, and various venues around the city.
Eric started working at Shaw Lanes Bowling Alley out of high school fulfilling another one of his hobbies while still earning income. He continued a long, dedicated career at E.F Boyd & Son Funeral Home for the past 40 years. He was so passionate about being a quality, reliable employee for the company as well as the grieving families that he would skip family functions to make sure staffing was optimal for his employer. In addition, he found pleasure working at Wickliffe Lanes (30 years) and Spin Bowl Independence (8yrs) where he was just as dedicated as his career job.
He was preceded in death by his nephew Avery Jacobs.
He leaves to mourn his brother, David Thomas; step- mother, Marsha Thomas; one niece, Chanel Thomas; two nephews, Jeremy and Jonathan Thomas, great nephews, aunts, uncles, a host of cousins and many friends.
