Ernestene Hall Bentley of
North Ridgeville, Ohio, beloved wife, mother, and Grammy passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. She was 84 years old. Born on January 15th, 1941, in Belo, West Virginia to parents Benjamin Hall and Sadie Imel Fife Hall. She was the 3rd child of 10 children. At 18 years old she married Can Bentley Sr. and had 4 children with him, Debra (Candy), Pamela, Can Jr., and James. They lived in Cleveland, Ohio for many years. Ernestene was a faithful member of The Lorain Avenue Church of Christ, in Cleveland, Ohio for 57 years. She loved to cook and was a great cook as well. She loved to paint watercolors, read and journal daily and write, quilt, and sew. Her African Violets were her pride and joy. Every week she sent dozens of cards to people who were ill, shut in, thinking of you, and words of encouragement. She took great pleasure in doing this.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Can Bentley Sr. of 44 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Sadie Hall. She is preceded in death by sisters, Patty Elson, Bonnie Collins, and Lillian Fisher. Also, her brothers preceded her in death, Douglas Hall, John L. Hall, and Hubert Hall. Surviving her are sisters Billie Fryman, Vera Anderson and Diane Pilkenton.
She is survived by her children, Debra (Candy) Garcia (Gary); Can M. Bentley Jr. (Denise); James D. Bentley. Her daughter Pamela Wright (Tommy) preceded her in death.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Amber (Shawn), great granddaughter Calysta, great-great grandson Jeovanni, great grandson Chase, great-great granddaughter Elena, great grandson Conner, great grandson Declan; grandson Robert (Robbie) Stafford (Alyssa) and great grandchildren Barrett M. and Eleanor "Ellie" Stafford; grandson Bernard (Bernie) Garcia whom she resided with, grandson William St. John, grandson Cody Garcia (Alex); granddaughter Samantha M. Bentley (Matt) and great granddaughter Ella Isbell; granddaughter Kaitlyn Bentley and great grandson Jackson Rivera; as well as numerous family and friends.
Friends may call Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 10AM until the time of services at 11AM at Lorain Avenue Church of Christ, 13501 Lorain Ave., Cleveland 44111. Elder John Dicus and Eddie Dicus will officiate. A second visitation will take place on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, with funeral services at 1:00 PM at Ware Funeral Home, 910 US Hwy 27 N,
Cynthiana, KY 41031. James Bentley will officiate the services. Burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery, 531 E Pike St,
