Kellar Hampton Works

Kellar Hampton Works, age 81, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at his home in North Myrtle Beach. He was born on June 5, 1944, in Cynthiana, KY, to the late Raymond and Wanda May Works II. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Fields Works; and a brother, Raymond Works III.

Kellar is survived by a son, Jason Ryan (Jessi) Works; a daughter, Kelly Works (Terry) Smiley; one sister, Judy (Paul) Lane; five grandchildren, Hampton Taylor, Neeley and Samuel Works, Ryan and Mason Smiley.

Kellar was many things, an athlete, farmer, businessman, tobacco grader and supervisor, but most of all he was a loving husband and father. His children fondly remember his love of playing golf, how basketball was a major part of his life in younger years, and that agriculture and farming became an important part as well. His family and friends will miss him dearly.

Funeral services for Kellar will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Ware Funeral Home. Visitation will be held just prior to the service, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Allen Waugh will lead services for the Works family, and burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hampton Taylor, Ryan Smiley, Mason Smiley, Terry Smiley, Danny Furnish and Jake Jenkins. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Mt.
