Erick Lee Degenstein

Erick Dags Lee Degenstein, 33, of Gwinner, ND died at home on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
He was born August 6th, 1988 in Lisbon, ND to Diane (Sautner) and Ricky Degenstein. He had one older brother, Brian, and his baby sister Sarah joined him two years later.
He attended Forman Public School until 1998 and graduated from Oakes High School in 2006 where he lettered in football. He began working at Bobcat as a welder and enjoyed this for twelve years.
Dags had a creative and entrepreneurial spirit, which he used to make hemp necklaces starting in high school and continuing into adulthood. He was a kind-hearted man with a delightfully mischievous spirit. He enjoyed anything in the outdoors including camping, music festivals, fishing, swimming, and hiking, regardless of the weather (he would say it s not so bad. . He loved all types of games - video games, board games, card games, pool games, lawn games, and above all, head games. You could always find Dags by a card or pool table, playing board games or poker with his friends.
Dags had a passion for exchanging ideas and could converse deep into the night. He took great pride in sharing stories with his friends and family. It didn t matter if it had been days or years since the last time you had seen him; the conversations resumed like no time had passed. Dags was a soft-hearted empath. He loved with his whole heart. He was everyone s best friend. He especially loved his animals, friends, and family.
Dags left us too soon, and he will be forever loved and missed by his parents, Diane and Ricky Degenstein, Fargo, ND; brother Brian (Megan) Degenstein, Fargo, ND; sister Sarah (Kristopher) Oster, Fargo, ND; nephews Archie and Rorik Oster; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marlys & Rip Sautner and Margaret Budeau & Christ Degenstein.
Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. followed by Visitation and Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9th at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Oakes.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 10th at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Erick s service will be live streamed on his obituary page. Memorial cards may be sent to Dahlstrom Funeral Home.
