Erik A. La Mere, 49, of Davenport, IA, died Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.
A celebration of Erik's life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at CityView Celebrations on the lower level of Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, IL, at 11:00 AM followed by a luncheon. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, IL.
Erik Arthur La Mere was born February 16, 1975, in Loma Linda, CA, to Arthur Thomas La Mere and Linda Lee (Myers) La Mere. He married Rachel Shelly on October 23, 2010, in Long Grove, IA.
He was self-employed, owning Bunker Hill Trading Company. He was actively involved with Boy Scouts, serving as Scout Master of Troop 4, assistant Scout Master of Troop 1004, and a charter member of Military Explorer Post 9043. As a child he received the Cub Scout Life Saving Award and enjoyed Little League Baseball. He was an avid cigar connoisseur, certified firearms instructor and enthusiast. His signature style was relaxed wearing a Hawaiian shirt.
Erik is survived by his wife, Rachel and two children, Alexander and Evelyn; his parents, Arthur and Linda La Mere of Bettendorf; his siblings, Matthew La Mere, Sara Mangum and her husband, David all of Bettendorf; his 7 nieces and nephews, Kayla, Gage, Hailey and Holly La Mere and Thomas, Lillian and Eleanor Mangum. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Brian.
