Erika McDougal LeFever, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Wildwood, GA, on August 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 8, 1940, in Gradenberg, Austria, Erika immigrated to the United States at the age of 18. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she embodied kindness, selflessness, and a welcoming spirit that touched everyone she encountered. Her unwavering love for her children, Marci (Jason) Finney and Lauren LeFever, stands as a testament to her commitment as a mother. As a grandmother, she took immense joy in the lives of her six grandchildren: Jessica (Johnny) Holland, Kelsey Hall, Gabe (Jacy) LeFever-Leigh, Eli LeFever, Ada Wall, and Brent Roberts. She was also a proud great-grandmother of Corbin (MaKenna) Holland, Olivia Holland, Sonnie Roberts, and Ember Roberts.
Erika is survived by her siblings, Mary Lois Richardson, Robert (Suzy) McDougal, Sylvia Congo, and Leslie (Tammy) McDougal, along with her nephews Mike Osborne and David (Lisa) Osborne. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A cherished member of her community and a devoted parishioner of Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Erika found solace and joy in her faith. Known for her gentle nature and genuine concern for others, she often inquired, “Is everybody doing okay?” Her warmth created an inviting atmosphere wherever she went.
Erika is predeceased by her husband, George; her father, Arthur McDougal; her mother, Lois Hubbard McDougal; her sister Margareta Osborne-Buchanan and her sons, Eric and Clinton.
A Mass in honor of Erika LeFever will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 12:00 PM at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, located at 140 New England Rd, Wildwood, GA 30757. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate her life and reflect on the love and joy she imparted to those around her.
Instead of flowers, donations in Erica's honor may be directed to Saint Katharine Drexel Church.
