Woodrow David Moore, age 92, of Trenton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026.
David was born October 19, 1933, in Scottsboro, Alabama, to the late John and Minday Macbee Moore. He honorably served his country in the United States Army.
For decades, David was a familiar and beloved presence in the Trenton community as the longtime owner and operator of Moore’s Barber Shop. Chances are, if you are a man who grew up in Dade County, David cut your hair at some point. Even in his later years, he still welcomed friends and customers for the occasional haircut at his home, never quite putting down the clippers for good.
David never met a stranger. He was known for his gift of conversation, his quick wit, and his love of sharing a good story or joke. His barber chair was more than a place for a haircut, it was a gathering spot filled with laughter, friendship, and community. Independent and active throughout his life, David continued living on his own and staying engaged with others well into his later years. He also enjoyed trading, visiting flea markets, playing golf, and spending time with his cats.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Hugh) Pinkleton; granddaughter, Ashley Pinkleton; and great-granddaughter, Shyia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Marie Moore; his son, Bruce Moore; and his siblings, Maggie, Lula, Leroy, Pearline, Hubert, Ruby, Raford, and Pansy.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Moore Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
A longtime barber, storyteller, and friend to many, David Moore left his mark on generations of Dade County residents. Whether sharing a laugh in the barber chair, searching for a good deal at the flea market, or enjoying a round of golf, he lived simply, independently, and with a spirit that brought people together. He will be remembered for his humor, his kindness, and the many conversations that made strangers feel like lifelong friends.
