Erika Polmateer Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 26, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Erika "Ilythia" Polmateer, born on May 20, 1980, who left us on August 25, 2025, in Fort Plain, New York. Erika was a beloved wife to Ryan Polmateer, with whom she shared 15 wonderful years together. She was a devoted mother to her beloved pets, including a dog named Duncan and Zoey, both of whom have passed, and a lively puppy named Nala, who continues to bring joy to her family.

Born in the vibrant season of spring, Erika embodied warmth and brightness, much like the summer days she cherished. Raised in Queens, New York, she later found her happiest moments in Fort Plain, where her spirit truly shone. Erika was known for her kindness and unwavering willingness to help others, even strangers. She had a unique ability to bring light into any room she entered, leaving an unforgettable mark on everyone she met and interacted with.

As a sister and a mentor, Erika's wisdom and compassion made her a cherished figure in the lives of many. Despite facing life's challenges, she maintained an optimistic outlook, always seeing the beauty in life and encouraging others to do the same. Her talents didn't just extend to the arts and literature; she was a skilled accountant and record keeper for her family.

An avid gamer and streamer, Erika connected with people worldwide, leaving behind a legacy of friendship and love. She was truly a living angel in disguise, embodying the very essence of humanity with her kindness, love, compassion, and respect for others.

Erika will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Her memory will remain a guiding light, inspiring us to treat each other with the same love and kindness she so effortlessly showed to all who crossed her path.
