Erika Elaine Wilson

July 18, 1945 ~ March 23, 2026

With a heart full of gratitude and sorrow, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Erika E. Wilson, who passed away at home at the age of 80~unafraid and with an open heart~surrounded by her loving daughter on March 23, 2026. A woman of beauty, strength and grace, she lived a full life as a force of nature ~ unyielding at times but loving and unforgettable.

She is survived by her daughter Chase Benetti, son-in-law Fernando Benetti, two stepdaughters Terry Skinner, Kimberly Anderson, niece Lidia Kotmel, grand nieces Tatyana Preston and Marina Russkin, and four grandchildren, Samantha Benetti, Alexander Benetti, Erik Benetti, and Elyse Sutton.

Erika was born in Garssen, Germany on July 18, 1945. Her parents and two brothers Edman and Ernest imigrated from Germany arriving in the United States upon the USNS Harry Taylor on December 7, 1951. Her family eventually settled in Riverton, Wyoming. She attended Riverton High School and upon graduating attended the University of Wyoming graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1970. After college, she moved to Colorado and pursued a career in office administration and real estate, before reaching her goal of becoming a Certified Public Accountant.

Erika loved traveling, enjoying many cruises along with her spouse James E. Wilson who preceded her in death September 11, 2019. She continued to cruise solo and with friends at times. All in all there were not many places in the world that she did not visit. She found great joy in thrifting and finding bargins as she was a practical woman. She became very active on her HOA board serving various positions until ultimately becoming President. She made significant changes to reduce homeowners dues and change policy and was highly respected by many community members.

A private ceremony willl be held in Erika's honor for close friends and family. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Erika's honor.
