In Loving Memory of Erin Roslyn Bennett

June 19, 2025 – March 2, 2026

With hearts heavier than words can hold, we share the passing of our precious baby girl, Erin Roslyn Bennett, who left this world far too soon. After an overnight visit with her father, our hearts were shattered when we were told that Erin had passed away at just eight months old.

Born tiny but mighty on June 19, 2025, weighing 4 pounds 9 ounces, Erin arrived early and so tiny, but she was filled with strength, light, and love from the very beginning. No words can truly express the pain of losing such a precious child and so needlessly. Erin left many memories on this earth. Each one of those memories will forever be cherished and treasured by those who cared for her and loved her.

Erin had the most beautiful blue eyes and long, delicate eyelashes, and a smile so bright it could warm up any room she entered. She was a joyful, happy baby whose laughter and gentle spirit brought comfort and delight to everyone who knew her. Recently, she learned to crawl — a milestone her family celebrated with overwhelming pride and joy. Every little movement, every giggle, every smile was a reminder of how special she was and how deeply she was cherished.

Erin loved her playtime. She adored being tickled on the sides of her chest, though she wasn’t quite as sure about tickles on her feet. She loved playing with her aunties — each one her favorite — and she lit up during games of peek a boo. She was learning to “beep” noses, her tiny squeezes bringing laughter to everyone around her. Erin was so smart and curious; her mommy had begun teaching her sign language, and she had already learned to sign “mom,” a milestone that filled her family with pride and joy.

One of Erin’s favorite moments was when her family sang “Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree.” Her little eyes would open wide and shine, and her smile grew bigger with every joyful “pop.” Those simple, sweet moments captured the pure happiness she brought into the world.

Erin also loved her stuffies. Her little brown bear was a constant companion, soft, and familiar in her tiny hands. And her newest favorite — a Winnie the Pooh that rattled when she shook it — brought her endless delight. The sound of that gentle rattle often came with her brightest smiles. She also had a special joy when she saw Tigger on television. She would stop, watch and start kicking her feet excitedly, with her biggest smile on her beautiful little face.

She had a special love for the family cat, Binky. Somehow, Erin was the only one who could tug at his fur and tail and still be met with patience. Binky seemed to understand her innocence, often settling beside her as if keeping quiet watch over his tiny friend.

Erin loved trying new foods and was always reaching for whatever someone else was eating, eager to taste the world. The morning before she passed, she tried French toast for the very first time — and she absolutely loved it. But her greatest favorite of all was graham crackers. If you gave her one, you wouldn’t get it back, and she wouldn’t eat anything else until that cracker was completely gone.

Erin is deeply loved and will forever be missed. She is survived by her mommy, Alyssa Brooke Bennett, by her father, Sheldon Michael Bennett. She is also survived by her loving sister, Riverleigh; her grandparents Kimberly Miller, Elijah Miller, and Devin Bennett; all of her great grandparents; her aunties Abby, Lexi, Kaylee, Jaysie, and Jeddah; her uncles, aunts, great aunts, great uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends — and by anyone who shared in the joy and blessing of knowing her, even for a little while.

Erin was preceded in death by her precious little cousin, Carter Brookes Johnson, who was born sleeping on November 20, 2025. Our family takes comfort in knowing that Erin and Carter will have each other — two little Angel souls together, playing, exploring, and going through “brat training camp” with their great great grandpa, Lowell Hart, who will be watching over them together, with their other great- great- grandparents until we meet again.

Her time with us was far too short, but the love she brought into the world will last a lifetime. Until we meet again, you will always be our sweet and precious little Erin. Sleep tight. We Love you forever and ever.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 12:30–1:45 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary.
