METROPOLIS, Ill. - Erlene Kruger, 91, of Metropolis, passed to her eternal reward on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Massac Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church with Tom Emmerson officiating. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Erlene was a life-long member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church and a member of the Good Shepherds Circle at church. She loved cooking and had worked as a cashier at Metropolis Drugs. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Erlene is survived by her daughter-in-law, Debbie Kruger; granddaughter, Misty Sanderson and husband Stephen; grandson, Marcus Kruger; three great grandchildren, Braxton, Bronson, and Brexley Sanderson; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Caroline (Maedeker) Loverkamp; husband of 54 years, Orval Kruger; son, Stanley Kruger; and brother, Lowell Loverkamp.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given in Erlene's name to St. Stephens Lutheran Church 6874 Midway Road, Metropolis, IL 62960.
