Erma Lee Dunlap Hudson

Life's Journey

Erma Lee Dunlap Hudson was born March 14, 1938, to the late Lee Henderson Dunlap and Missie (Massey) Dunlap in Wabbaseka, Arkansas. She resided in the Altheimer Community until God called her home on November 12, 2025.

Erma was a strong, humbled, and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. She became a member of Battle Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a choir member, usher, and Treasurer. She was also a dedicated homemaker, a well-known seamstress, and hairstylist. Erma was known for her giving spirit, where many people of the community thought of her as a mother and grandmother.

In the year of 1956, Erma Lee Dunlap married McKinley Hudson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter-Juanita Hudson, one granddaughter - Samone Jynes; eight siblings - Willie Lee Dunlap, Van Henderson Dunlap, Quinton Dunlap, Emma Lue Dunlap-Johnson, Joseph Dunlap, Ecclesiastes Dunlap, Naomi Dunlap Hudson, and Edward Dunlap, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory seven children - Doris Hudson (Eddie) Gaddy, Caroline Hudson (Iaasic) Butler, Linda Hudson (Samuel) Jackson, Tracy Hudson (Melvin) Wooten, Larry (Margaret) Hudson, Barbara Hudson, Melissa Hudson (James) Rice; Two grandchildren whom she raised- Dr. Latisha Reynolds (Bryan) Wilson and Marcus (Markeisha) Hudson; Six siblings- Ulysses Dunlap Sr., Endouice Boyd, Ophelia Shelton, Milton Dunlap, Mary Robinson, Dorothy Morehead; thirty-eight grandchildren, Seventy-two great-grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2025, at Greater Battle Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, AR.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at New Community Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, AR, by Pastor James Rice, Jr. Interment in Altheimer Community Cemetery, Altheimer, AR. Services are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home Pine Bluff, AR.
