Erma Logan Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 28, 2024.
SCOTTISH POEM
End is in beginning;
And in beginning end:
Death is not loss, nor life winning;
But each and to each is friend.
The hands which give are taking;
And the hands which take bestow:
Always the bough is breaking;
Heavy with fruit or snow.

Erma Jo was born December 16, 1925, in Ranger, Texas, to Alice Elizabeth Lindsay and Leroy Britton Wilkes. After spending her childhood in West Texas, Leroy, Alice, her older brother - George Gray, Erma Jo, and her younger brother - Kenneth Earl, moved to Fort Worth. Erma Jo spent the remainder of her life in Tarrant County and graduated from Riverside High School in Fort Worth.
Erma Jo was a woman ahead of her time, always working to help provide for her family. She worked in various clerical positions, for the Texas Highway Department during World War II, as a Legal Secretary in Fort Worth, an Assistant Buyer for the Ben Hogan Company, and in various positions at Pier One Corporation.
Erma Jo loved her family, gardening, and traveling. She was and is beloved by many friends and family.
The love of her life - her first husband, Gerald Arnold Douglas; second husband, George Logan; brothers, George Gray and Kenneth; and her parents, have preceded her in death.
Erma Jo is survived by her sons, Dwight Arnold Douglas and wife, Susan, and Gregory Kent Douglas and wife, Karen; Erma Jo's legacy flourishes through the lives of her many loving grandchildren, Caraline Elaine Douglas, Colin Kingsley Douglas, Britton Dean Douglas, Graham Kent Douglas, and Dylan G.A. Douglas; she is further immortalized through the lives of her loving great-grandchildren, Royal Douglas, Johnny Douglas, Gray Douglas, Kayna Douglas, and Gavin Douglas.
We will sorely miss our dear mother and grandmother.
