Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home - PlattsmouthErna Huebner, 100, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska formerly of North Platte, Nebraska, passed on February 27, 2026, at the Nebraska Masonic Home. Erna was born on November 11, 1925, in Freiberg, Germany to Sigmund & Elizabeth Herzfeld (Neumark).
Erna dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker. She was united in marriage to Adrian Huebner on November 7, 1955, in Tucumcari, NM. For more than 30 years, Erna volunteered at the Thrift Center, where her commitment to serving others left a lasting impact on the community. Her passions included treasure-hunting at garage sales and sharing delightful meals with friends.
Erna was also a proud member of the Eagles in North Platte, where she made lifelong friendships and created cherished memories. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel extensively abroad and in the US, exploring new places and cultures, which she often shared with enthusiasm and joy.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Anne) McCleary of Bakewell, England, James (Angie) Huebner of Omaha, Nebraska, Joe Huebner of Oaxaca, Mexico, John Huebner of Omaha, Nebraska, Dan (Erin) Huebner of Denver, Colorado, Grandchildren: Erin Galvin of Omaha, NE, James Huebner of Gypsum, CO, Heather Ober of Omaha, NE, James Haerle of Omaha, NE, Joseph Aaron Huebner of Mobile, AL, Wynter Stallones of Houston, TX, Skye Sjobakken of Denver, CO, Robin McCleary of Wales, Claire Wild of England, Callum McCleary of England, Debbie Scott of England, William French of England, Rosie French of England. Erna additionally had (13) great grandchildren & (4) Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Adrian Huebner, sons, Thomas French and Ben Huebner.
A graveside service will be held on March 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska.
Memorials may be directed to the Tangier Shrine Transportation Fund.
