He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Whilma Balsley; his parents, George and Goldie (Hurt) Balsley; and his three sisters, Violet, Ila, and Naomi. He is survived by his five children; daughter, Sharon (Terry) Ballard, Louisville, Ky.; daughter, Patricia (Mike) Dye, Richmond, Ky.; son, Ernest Balsley Jr., Louisville, Ky.; daughter, Judith (Mark) Kaelin, Louisville, Ky.; and daughter, Sandra (Anthony) Mayes, Louisville, Ky., and 53 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
His Celebration of Life will be 11 A.M. Thursday at Ratterman Southwest 4832 Cane Run Rd. with burial in Fairmont Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday.
