Ernest Leroy Campbell

Ernest Leroy Campbell, known to most as Leroy, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, in Kansas City.

Leroy was born on October 25, 1937, in Skidmore, Missouri, the son of Ernest and Zella (Rolette) Campbell. He graduated from high school and went on to work as an office equipment repair technician for Pitney Bowes, where he dedicated 28 years of service.

In 1978, Leroy married the love of his life. Together they raised a family and later opened a costume store called Costumes and More. The shop became a true family business, where even his grandchildren would eventually work alongside him.

Leroy was a devoted family man who loved spending time with those closest to him. He was always tinkering with some kind of machinery and had a natural talent for fixing things. Whether it was working on cars or repairing just about anything imaginable, Leroy enjoyed keeping his hands busy and solving problems.

He is survived by his loving wife, Geneva Campbell; stepdaughter, Annette Williamson; and grandchildren, Tyler Williamson, Haley Williamson, and Kristen Williamson.

He was preceded in death by his stepson, Bryan Vogts; his parents; his brothers, Gary Campbell and Larry Campbell; and his sisters, Connie Campbell and Shirley Campbell.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m., with burial at Zion Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
