Ernest Dean Davis, of Mansfield, Texas, peacefully passed away on August 13, 2025, at the age of 93.
Dean was born on July 3, 1932, in Oklahoma City, to Jessie Arrilla Pauley and Ernest Patrick Davis. He proudly served in the US Army from January 12, 1953, to January 8, 1955. Dean married Mary Sue Musgrove on August 24, 1957, in Arlington, Texas. He worked for General Motors, while also operating Davis Roofing, then later running Touring Specialties, a motorcycle shop. He was a member of the American Legion, the UAW 276 Motorcycle Club, the Blue Knights, the TX Motorcycle Road Riders Association, and the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. He enjoyed horseback riding, drag racing, riding motorcycles, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his family.
Dean is preceded in death by his wife, Sue; his parents, Shorty and Arrilla; his five brothers, Louis, Bill, James, Ray, and Bobby; his great-grandson, Kile.
Dean is survived by his children, Steve Davis, Cindy and Ken Harding, Regina and Jeff Smith; his grandchildren, Nicole Davis, Wes Harding, Tiffany and Brian Batchelor, Brice Clements, Jared and Sarah Harding; his great-grandchildren, Haley, Alix, Jordan, Kurstyn, Ashlyn, MaKinley, Dylan, Sophie, Layne, and Hudson; his great-great-grandson, Hunter, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and loving family members and friends.
Dean's Family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the staff at Mansfield Medical Lodge, and to all of Dean's old friends and family who visited with him in person or on the phone almost every day.
