Ernest King Davis, 86, of North River, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church of North River. Entombment will follow at the church cemetery. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home website at Noefs.net.
He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Juanita Davis of North River; daughter, Rita Fisher of Portsmouth, VA; daughter, Billie Davis of Maryland; daughter, Kimberly Jones and husband, Reggie of Havelock; son, Scotty Davis of North River; 12 grandchildren: Darnell, Jerome, Marcus, Byron, Danielle, Trevor, Donovan, Brittany, Dante, Kierra, Jonathon, and Joseph; nine great grandchildren and a great great grandchild; three sisters, Bertha Johnson, Vivian Johnson and husband, Willie Ray of North River; Janice Norris and husband, Larry of Havelock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henderson and Mary Davis; daughter, Wendy Davis; and his two brothers and two sisters.
