HARTFORD TWP-Ernest Lee Eckart, Sr, 67, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in his home surrounded by loved ones.
Born January 7, 1957, in Meadville, PA, he was a son of the late Vincent Paul and Mattie Jo (Langley) Eckart.
Ernest proudly served in the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged in 1992. On March 8, 1975, Ernest married his beloved wife, Diana Mercer.
Ernest had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying every opportunity to embrace nature. He was also an avid collector, with a particular fondness for matchbox cars, Hot Wheels, and firearms. A devoted family man, Ernest found immense joy in spending time with his loved ones.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Diana Eckart; three children, Ernest Eckart, Jr. (Crystal & Hayden), Vincent Eckart (Denise) and Rebecca Davis (Jimmy & Gage); the mother of 3 grandchildren, Valerie Kidwell Eckart; 11 grandchildren, Ernie, Noelle, Nate, Alyssa (Kaitlin), Mykaela (Norbert), Jackie, Alexus, Mike, Mason, Haileey, Abby; first great-grandbaby to arrive in April, Noelle; three sisters, Marilyn Warren of MI, Margret Belcher of NC and Martha Hurlbert of FL; a special niece, Patricia Mercer, whom he called Ugly Butt and she called Tumbelina; his fur babies, Lilly and Lola, along with his feather baby, Leo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angel Eckart and his two brothers, William Eckart and infancy. Paul Eckart
Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 4:00PM-6:00PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, 44428. Cremation will follow.
Memorial contributions in Ernest’s name may be made to his family.
