Ernest Mitchell James Jr.

Ernest Mitchell "Mickey" James Jr, 83, of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 19, 2025. He was born September 30, 1942 in Selmer, Tennessee to the late Rachel Hope Kirk James and Ernest Mitchell James Sr.

Mickey was raised in Tennessee until he was around 10, then the family moved to Arkansas. After high school and college was a former music teacher for high schools and colleges, then worked as a communication engineer, even serving in Iraq under Gen. Petraeus as a contractor during the Gulf War. Mickey was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Nina Alexander James, whom he married on March 22, 1963; son, John James; grandson, Jesse James; brother, Paul James; and sister, Mary Hope Wallace.

Memorial Service will be 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville, with Joe James officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
