LAKE CITY - Freddy Junior Cobb, age 83, of Lake City, passed away on Feb. 2, 2026, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born on May 24, 1942, North of Monette, to Fred and Ethel Cobb.
Freddy was raised in the country and attended a one-room school, the Childress School. Freddy served in the Army National Guard 875th Engineer Battalion from 1961 until 1966. As a civilian, he was employed as an electrician. Freddy married the love of his life, Betty Dennison, in 1963, and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage until her death in 2022. He enjoyed watching basketball, wrestling, and his all-time favorite game, "Pool." Freddy was a member of the Refuge Church of Lake City. Freddy is preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Cobb; one son, Mark Cobb; his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Those left to cherish the memories of Freddy are his son, David Cobb of Jonesboro; daughter-in-law, Jodi Cobb of Lake City; his grandsons, Dylan Cobb and Ethan Cobb of Lake City; and many more friends and loved ones.
Funeral service will be Friday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m., in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Brother Jon Milligan officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Mike Ray, Jon Milligan, Ed Young, and Ervin Sexton. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
