PORTSMOUTH— Ernest Lee McGraw, 81, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, May 12, 2024, with his daughter, Sherry Stevens, and son, Ricky McGraw by his side. Born on February 21, 1943, in Scioto County, he was a son of the late Jake and Delia Shover McGraw and was a former roofer for Pyles Roofing.
Also, preceding Lee in death was his wife, Emma Frances Bender McGraw.
Surviving are five children, Tammy (Paul) Pennington of Portsmouth, Tony (Tina) McGraw of Minford, Sherry (Charlie) Stevens of Portsmouth, Jeff (Beth Huffman) McGraw of Portsmouth, and Ricky (Tabatha) McGraw of Piketon; five grandchildren, Kayla (Seth) Iverson, Austin McGraw, Jake (Heather) McGraw, Emmalee (Chris) Morgan and ToniLynn (Brice Rawlins) McGraw; two sisters, Kay Snyder of Chillicothe and Carol Cummings of Portsmouth; five great-grandchildren, Theo Iverson, Hadlee McGraw, Maddie Morgan, two great-grandsons expected soon and two special little girls, Kaydence Hill and Laiken Hill.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Ron Baker officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive guests at Brant's from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
Lee's family would be remiss without acknowledging the exceptional care he received from SOMC Hospice.
