Ernest Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hurley Funeral Home - Pleasanton on Feb. 9, 2026.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest Edward Miller, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who left us on February 5, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on November 11, 1961, in Seguin, Texas, Ernest spent his later years residing in the Black Hill area, where he built a life filled with love and laughter.

In his younger years Ernest served in the US Army in West Germany. He was a dedicated and hardworking man known for his integrity and strong work ethic. He began his career as a bricklayer and briefly worked on a drilling rig before becoming a successful businessman - the Owner and Operator of Millerbilt All Metal Buildings, a role he fulfilled proudly from 1991 to 2023. His sharp business acumen and problem-solving mindset allowed him to thrive in the construction industry; he constructed buildings all across the United States from South Texas to Montana, and all in between, earning the respect and admiration of his peers.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ernest was deeply committed to his community. He had strong conservative values, and actively sought to make a positive impact, even running for Atascosa County Commissioner, as he believed in the importance of serving others. His good sense of humor and caring nature touched the lives of many, and he always extended a helping hand to those in need.

Ernest cherished his weekends spent fishing and reminisced fondly of his younger years spent hunting. He caught fish all across North America, hunted deer, elk and moose, bear and antelopes.

Above all, he adored his family, particularly his loving wife, Marina Miller, and their two daughters Katerina and Anastasia Miller. And they will always remember all fun things they did together, how he taught them to ride a bicycle, to swim, play softball, basketball, volleyball, shoot guns, climb hay bales, drive, fishing, and camping together. He often expressed gratitude for his life and all that he had, making it a point to celebrate the small moments that brought joy and fulfillment. Ernest had seen a lot of world during his travels. He had always done things his way and was a very happy person.

A public viewing will be held on February 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Hurley Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather together to honor and celebrate the life of Ernest Edward Miller. He will be laid to rest later that day in Floresville City Cemetery.

Ernest will be remembered not only for his contributions to his family and community but also for the warmth he brought into the lives of all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.

Ernest was preceded in death by: parents Barney and Dorothy Miller; brother Luis Miller and sister Joy Miller Wilson. He is survived by his wife Marina Miller; daughters Katerina and Anastasia Miller; brothers Barney Miller (Sherry), Dale Miller (Denise), and Phillip Miller (Cecilia); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Cole Miller, Phillip "Buster" Miller Jr, Trinity Miller, Joseph Sangalli Jr., Andrew Mendez, and Michael Pena.
