Ernest Quitman Parden, age 89, of Petal, Mississippi died December 6, 2024, at the Hospice of West Alabama facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was born August 5, 1935, in Coffeeville, Alabama to Henry Savage and Ruthie Lillian Parden. He was a US Army Sergent Veteran that served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Petal, Mississippi. He worked for many years in the pulp and paper industry and retired from Georgia Pacific in New Augusta, Mississippi.
He is survived by his two daughters Cindy Parden (Al) Morgan and Tammy Parden Richardson; three brothers Wilber Grey Parden, William Lundy Parden, And Louie Parden; four sisters Dorothy Parden Newton, Juaniece Parden Price, Faye Parden Mooneyhan, and Kay Parden Smalley; two grandchildren Russell (Mary) Morgan and Casey Morgan (John) Williams, four great grandchildren Sarah Jane Morgan, Bo Morgan, Avery Williams and Ansley Williams.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Savage "Jim" Parden and Ruthie Lillian Howell Parden; his wife Betty Laura Sims Parden; three brothers Luther Parden, Gettys Parden and Donnie Parden; and sister Evelyn Parden.
Visitation will be held at Lathan Funeral Home on Wednesday December 11, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Don Heiden officiating. Burial will follow at Center Point Baptist Church cemetery in Coffeeville, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Larry Parden, Garry Parden, Terry "Joe" Parden, Kenny Sims, Arlis Hicks, Russell Morgan, and John Williams.
