Ernest McKinly Paul, a beloved husband, dad, and friend, left this world peacefully on November 15, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on November 12, 1941, Ernest spent his life in Coffeeville, Alabama, where he became a cherished member of his community.
Ernest was a true Jack of all trades-his remarkable skills allowed him to build and fix anything with an unmatched passion and expertise. Whether it was repairing a neighbor's roof or helping a family member, his hands and heart were always in service of others. His creative spirit was complemented by a love for the outdoors, particularly fishing, where he found peace and joy.
Ernest's warm-hearted nature and infectious laughter touched everyone who crossed his path. He had an incredible ability to connect with people, and his kindness left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Janis Paul, his children Helen (Art) Gadell, Carrie (Wayne) Browning, Paul (Misty) Walker, Lewis (Jill) Walker, Ronnie (Susan) Paul, Roger (Frankie) Paul, Becky (Artie) Akins, and Thersa (John) Casey; 20 grandchildren and special grandsons Hudson (Terra) Browning and Scott (Sarah) Hadley; multiple great-grandchildren; sisters Diane Eslava, Pat McCoy, and Edna Wilson; brother, Jimmy Paul.
In celebration of his life, a graveside service will take place at Ulcanush Baptist Cemetery on November 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor Ernest's legacy and to share stories that reflect the love and joy he brought into their lives. Following the service, Ernest will be laid to rest in Coffeeville, Alabama, where he will remain forever in the hearts of those he cherished.
Though he will be deeply missed, Ernest McKinly Paul's spirit will live on in our memories, reminding us of the beauty of a life dedicated to loving and helping others.
