Ernest Lee "Ernie" Puckett, 86, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. Ernest was a member of New Salem Baptist church for many years and served in the Mississippi National Guard. During the early years of his life, he enjoyed gardening and farming, and he also enjoyed Ole Miss football, traveling, and spending time with his family. Ernest is survived by his wife, Tina Puckett of Iuka; his sons, Jeff Puckett (Shannon) of Iuka and Franky Puckett of Iuka; his daughter, Donna Moyers (Jeff) of Iuka; his stepson, Joey Holt (Susie) of Iuka; his sister, Shirley Smith (Bill) of Bolivar, TN; three grandchildren, Neal Moyers of Iuka, Anna Kate Moyers of Tupelo, and Sam Garrard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Grisham Puckett; his parents, Roman and Emma Puckett; his brothers, C.I. Puckett, John Puckett, Ed Puckett, and Roy Puckett; and his sisters-in-law, Della, Linda, and Laweuna. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 13, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with services immediately following at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Ron Norvell. Interment will be in New Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers include Michael Puckett, Keith Puckett, T.C. Parnell, David Brewer, Jared Hendrix, and Nick Hendrix. Donations of blankets may be made in Ernest's honor to Fresenius Dialysis in Corinth (810 Alcorn Dr. Corinth, MS 38834). An online guestbook may be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com
