Ernest Kim Scott September 29, 1937 – September 16, 2004 Ernest Kim Scott, our loving husband, father, Pop-pop, brother, golf partner and friend passed away on September 16, 2004 after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He was 66 years old. Born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on September 29, 1937 to Ernest Lloyd and Jennie Camp Scott, Kim graduated from Sand Springs, Oklahoma High School, and joined the Army ROTC at Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University). He graduated in 1959 with a B.S. in Business. Kim served 20 years in the US Army, serving tours in Aschaffenberg, Grafenwohr, Heidelberg, and Neu Elm, Germany, and two tours in Vietnam, as well as various stateside posts. His Army commendations include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Joint Service Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. He retired from the Army as a Lt. Col. in 1979, when a job with Lockheed Missiles & Space brought the Scott family to San Jose, California, and eventually to Austin, Texas, where Kim enjoyed many, many hours on the Onion Creek Golf Course. Kim is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter Kathy and her husband Ian Lahaye of San Jose, California; daughter Lisa and her husband, David Jeffus of Austin; two grandsons, Scotty and Colby Jeffus; one infant granddaughter Kristina Jeffus; brother Arthur Lloyd of Northridge, California; and brother Don and his wife Eva, of Fort Pierre, South Dakota. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Lloyd and Jennie Camp Scott, and his sister Ann Scott Confer. He will be remembered by his many friends and relatives as a kind, gentle and patient man who was always willing to do for others. He accepted everyone, including himself, at face value and was respected by all for his honesty and integrity. The family would like to thank the staff at Austin Christopher House, especially Jeannine, Carolyn, and Jackie, for their compassion, caring, and comfort. We are also grateful to Dr. Tucker, Alyssa, and Donna as well as to Dr. Sonstein for their dedication and care. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Hospice Austin Christopher House, 2820 E.
