Ernest Testo

Dr. Ernest Testo, a dentist and Director of Dental Requirements for the Department of Veterans Affairs died unexpectedly on January 18, 2024. Ernest is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cathy Mecar Testo; and by his son, James. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann and his father, Ernest.
Ernie was born in Fairview, PA on April 6, 1942. He attended Fairview schools and DeVeaux Prep School in Niagra, NY. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Dental School in 1967.
Ernie served proudly in the military for 36 years in the Army Reserves. He was called up during the Desert Storm conflict and provided medical expertise at King Fahad Hospital. He retired at the rank of Colonel.
Ernie was known for his great sense of humor, work ethic, athleticism and generosity of heart. If someone needed help he was the first to provide assistance, as he did during his lifetime.
Visitation is scheduled for January 25th from 6-8pm at Demaine Funeral Home in Fairfax. Internment and blessings to be held on January 27th at 12:45pm at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard PA to St. Johns Cemetery in Girard at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to St. Jude's Hospital for Children.
