Ernestine graduated from Roscommon High School in 1945. She later met the love of her life, Frank, with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage until his passing in 2010. For 35 years, Ernestine worked as a switchboard manager for Oakland County before retiring. She was known for always dressing to the nines, carrying herself with grace and flair-truly a diva in the best sense. After retirement, she and Frank enjoyed traveling in their RV, spending winters in Florida and Arizona. Family was always at the center of Ernestine's life. She loved traveling, getting her nails done, and cheering on her grandchildren at every game, rain or shine. Even when she didn't understand the sport, she was their loudest supporter.
She is survived by her son, Larrie (Kris) Kline; grandchildren, Lisa (John) Spiker and Craig (Francie) Kline; great-grandchildren, Logan (fiancée Karissa Oliphant) Spiker, Quentin Spiker, Benjamin Spiker, Zachery (Kari Timko) Kline, and Anthony (Makyla) Kline; and great-great-granddaughter Artie Kline; and her brother, Jack (Marilyn) Williams. Ernestine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank; her cherished daughter, Sharron Kline; her parents; and six siblings.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at COATS Funeral Home – Waterford. A graveside service will take place Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 12 PM at Pioneer Cemetery in Roscommon, Michigan.
