Ernie Jorgenson Obituary

Ernie M. Jorgenson, 79

Ernie Melvin Jorgenson passed away September 30th, 2025, at the Idaho Veteran's Home in Post Falls following a brief episode of pneumonia, a complication of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was born April 11th, 1946, in Coeur d'Alene to Harry and Grace (Walker) Jorgenson.

Ernie lived most of his life in Coeur d'Alene, except for a 3-year stint in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Ramstein AFB in Wiesbaden Germany. He also lived one year in Las Vegas before returning to Coeur d'Alene.

He graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1964 and attended North Idaho College.

Ernie married Karyl Bissell in 1978, and his beloved son Brad was born in 1980.

Ernie worked mostly in the beer and wine industry. He worked for LaVoie Distributing (later became Centennial Distributing) for 28 years and then for Odom Beverage for 15 years before retirement.

Survivors are his wife of 47 years, Karyl, his son Brad, brother Daryl Jorganson, sister Mariam Janusch, brother in-law Wayne Tregear, nephews Barry Janusch (Arlene) and Nick Tregear (Jen), nieces Shari McCallister (Paul), Katie Mattson (Brandon) and all their families. Also, so many cherished life-long friends.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Grace, brothers in-law Red Janusch and Frank Bissell, and sisters in-law Linda Tregear and Nancy Vanek Jones.

At Ernie's request there will be no service. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Many thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at the Idaho Veterans Home in Post Falls.
