Ervin Dippold Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Inglesby & Sons Funeral Home - Pennsauken on Oct. 1, 2025.
Ervin "Erv" Dippold, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully of natural causes on February 9, 2024, in Woodlynne, NJ, at the age of 74. Born on October 25, 1948, in Riverside, NJ, Erv was a man of great character, known for his handiness, intelligence, and wisdom.
Erv proudly served his country as a member of the US Army, a period of his life that instilled in him a profound sense of duty and community. He carried these values throughout his life, becoming a respected bricklayer known for his meticulous work and strong work ethic. His commitment to craftsmanship was matched only by his dedication to his fellow veterans, as he was an active participant at local posts and Amvets, where he enjoyed spending time with friends who shared his experiences.
After his honorable discharge, Erv returned to his hometown, where he continued to apply the skills he honed in the military to his civilian life. He built a reputation not only for his professional achievements but also for his personal ones. Erv was a loving husband to his late wife, Linda, and together they raised a family that was the center of his world. He is survived by his devoted children, Michele Higman and Tim Dippold, who will forever cherish the lessons and love he imparted upon them.
Erv's legacy extends to his beloved grandchildren, Courtney, Meghan, Kahlan, Evelyn, and Michael. Each of them was touched by his gentle guidance, quick wit, and the stories of his adventures that could capture the imagination of any listener. They will carry forward his spirit of curiosity and the joy he found in life's simple pleasures.
He leaves behind his caring sister, Eleanor Walker, who will miss her brother's sage advice and the bond they shared throughout the years. Erv is predeceased by his brother, Thomas Dippold, and is also fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
A man of many interests, Erv found relaxation in the serenity of fishing, the challenges of golfing, and the camaraderie of his friends at the posts and Amvets. These activities were more than hobbies; they were extensions of his love for nature, his competitive spirit, and his commitment to the service community.
Erv's life was marked by the kind of wisdom that can only be gained through a life well-lived. He had an innate ability to fix almost anything, a testament to his handy nature. Friends and family often sought his counsel, knowing that his intelligence and experience provided insights that were both practical and profound.
Erv Dippold lived a life of honor, family, and friendship. His passing leaves a void in the fabric of the community he helped to strengthen and the lives of those he touched. Yet, his memory will be celebrated, his stories retold, and his values upheld by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Erv's life will be commemorated in a private ceremony, in accordance with his wishes. His final resting place will be alongside his beloved wife, Linda, in a quiet corner of the world that he loved so dearly. As the sun rises and sets, we are reminded of Erv's enduring presence in our lives, and we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to guide us, just as it always has. Erv Dippold's journey on earth has concluded, but his story-written in the lives he shaped-will never end.
