Essie Mae Adams

Essie Mae Hawkins Adams, 87, of Ashdown, AR passed away December 31, 2017 at home. She was born September 27, 1930 in Ashdown to Monroe and Viola Hawkins. Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her parents, Viola Jones and step-father Garfield Jones and her son Clyde Adams. She leaves to cherish her memory, six sons, Charles and Dorothy Henderson of Ashdown, Horace Gulley of Houston, TX, Preston and Helen Adams of Killeen, TX, Ray and Sharon Hawkins of Ashdown, Clifford Hawkins of Ashdown, and Larry and Felicia Hawkins of Ashdown, two daughters Mary Hawkins of Ashdown and Cheryl and Cleo Hunter of Texarkana, AR, 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Active pallbearers are Reginald Henderson, Preston Adams, Jr., Paul Adams, Nicholas Adams, Charles House, Horace Gulley, Jr., Charles Henderson, Jr., and Channie Gulley. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Henderson, Larry Hawkins, Preston Adams, Ray Hawkins, Clifford Hawkins, and Horace Gulley. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 12:00 at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown with Jonathan Elston officiating. Intrment to follow at Red Oak Grove Cemetery.
