Estel Carlile Moye, Jr., aged 67, passed away on October 31, 2025 in Sophia, West Virginia. Born on March 30, 1958, Carlile was a graduate of Sophia High School, and was well-known in his community for his kindness and lively personality. He had a long career in heating and cooling, earning a Master Electrician certification, and retired after working for Appalachian Heating and Cooling and Childers Enterprises.
Carlile is survived by his cousins Lou Ann Johnson, Rob Johnson, Mary Jo Gomsi and Roy Sovine. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nira Moye and Estel Carlile Moye.
A service to honor Carlile’s life will be held at Calfee Funeral Home (800 South Oakwood Ave, Beckley) on Monday, November 10th at 11:00 am with Pastor Don Kelly officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Mac’s Memorial Toy Fund, Inc. in care of the Beckley Area Foundation at 1210 South Kanawha Street, Beckley WV, 25821.
