Estella Hilgert Obituary

DELPHOS -- Estella Mae Hilgert, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 5:00 a.m., at VanCrest of Delphos.

She was born May 30, 1933, in Lima, to Robert E. and Helen G. (Stevens) Hall who preceded her in death. On July 29, 1956, she married Carl A. Hilgert who survives.

Also surviving are their children: Carl E. (Stephanie) Hilgert of Inverness, FL, Lisa (Mark) Nungester of Lakeview and Kelly Winslow of Lima; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; a brother, James (Bonnie) Hall of Dunnellon, FL and a sister-in-law, Peggy Hall of Celina.

She is preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Jan Allen and Anita Hilgert, a brother, Robert J. Hall, and a sister, Nancy M. Lhamon.

Estella was a 1951 graduate of Lima South High School and had been an operator for the Lima Telephone Company. She was Equestrian Therapy Program volunteer. She loved horses, bowling, fishing and BINGO. She was the pretty girl that Carl was smitten with the first time he saw her riding a horse.

Visitation will be Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Equestrian Therapy Program, 22532 Bowsher Rd, Cridersville, OH 45806.
